What a whirlwind

Well it's been an exciting time - I travelled to Madrid to cover the European Showjumping Championships and what an emotional rollercoaster it was for GB supporters, Rob Hoekstra and his team of Ben Maher, Guy Williams, Nick Skelton and John Whitaker.
One minute we're coming to terms with fourth place and next moment we've snatched the team bronze and cheering our boys on the podium.
Nick added to our pride with another bronze medal in the individual competition on Carlo while Ben Maher and Tripple X finished a credible 12th on their championship debut together.
A fantastic few days and I was proud to photograph the action.
As soon as I hit British turf it was down to Gweallavellan for the Kings Troop and Junior Academy competition.
Once again it was a proud moment watching our young soldiers giving up their time and giving our young riders a memorable afternoon.
The next big outing is at HOYS next month where I'll be capturing the action. See you there Kathryn

Stithians Show

12th July 2011
Great day at Stithians - one of the biggest one day shows in the country and it seemed as though the whole county had turned out to watch the showjumping - what a great atmosphere.
Fantastic to see Mel Hennah on her way back to HOYS with Anchorman owned by Carolyn Stevens. At six-years-old he is a wonderful open worker prospect - also well done to all the other riders qualifying for Birmingham - See you soon, Kathryn

Here, there and eveywhere!

It's been some time since the last blog post, partly because I've been so busy. I was lucky enough to travel out to the World Cup finals in Leipzig and then onto La Baule for the first leg of the Top Tier series.
Devon County marked the first show in the county circuit for me and now it's onto Royal Bath & West and then Royal Cornwall.
In between I'm covering the Junior Premier Show at the Hand EC - good luck to all the young riders in their quest for a ticket to HOYS - then it's the senior premier show at the Hand.
I'm also trying to fit in watching my own horses jump and keeping in touch with their progress - while I'm at the Bath & West and the Hand Junior Premier they're in Wales competing at the second round show but I can't be in three places at once!
Please e-mail me if there are any special requests you think I can help out with at any of these shows - I really enjoying compiling individual folders - see you soon, Kathryn - and most of all good luck!

Spurs charity cheque
01st April 2011
01st April 2011
Spurs showjumping have raise just shy of £11,000 over the past seven-years with donations making a big difference to so many deserving local people.
This year was no exception and the team presented a cheque for £1,500 to five-year-old Finlay Norris of Bodmin and his parents Emma and Jay.
Finlay has Cerebral palsy and the money will be used to buy him a lycra suit and go towards the purchase of a laptop.
"We're extremely grateful," said Finlays father Jay. "Finlay requires two suits a year and the NHS only help with the part purchase of one. This is a wonderful gesture and we're overwhelmed." - Kathryn

Hi everyone,
It's a shame that I've had to move my copyright message to the centre of my pictures but unfortunately a few have spoilt it for the majority.
It tests my faith in human nature and also the picture display - but needs must! - Kathryn

Birthday double at Colraine
05th March 2011
05th March 2011
A great day at Colraine where Sophie Jinks celebrated her 11th birthday with a winning double in the Arena eventing competition on her super pony The Cadmaster.
Zoe Gwennap's fifteen fence challenge included a couple of skinnies which proved influential.
Sammy Cotton was also in good form on Frilly Tilly and enjoyed a promising ride on her new six-year-old Dutch Courage while Julie Williams opened the day with a win in the nursery 70cms with Cassie.
A fun filled event - Kathryn

Parkmore Master - impressive young stallion
03rd March 2011
03rd March 2011
Just come back from a sunny mini photo-shoot for Angela Wise of the Dalcotes Stud.
Angela has a reputation for having an eye for a horse of the future and she's excelled with her four-year-old stallion Parkmore Master. A son of Master Imp out of Parkmore Clover, Angela bought this impressive young stallion direct from Ireland as a foal.
She has played the waiting game to good effect and Parkmore Master is now showing all the credentials to turn into a top class sire and eventer.
Parkmore Master is being produced by Sammie Jo Coffin who was on top form putting him through his paces over a couple of meaty oxers - this is a brave young horse took it all in his stride and showed the elusive wow factor with his elevated jump.
Having recently taken photographs of Val Croft's young dressage stallion Sandro Sun it was really exciting to meet up with another star of the future based in Cornwall. - Kathryn

Warm welcome at Whitehay meet
02nd March 2011
02nd March 2011
A warm welcome, superb hosts and bright sunshine provided the perfect platform for the North Cornwall Hunt meet at Whitehay, Withiel, today.
I enjoyed a lovely couple of hours taking a few pictures and it was great to see some up and coming young horses and ponies furthering their education.
Sammie Jo Coffin and Brian Facey stood out from the crowd with young coloured horses while Josh Hutchins tested his young pony over a couple of banks and some tricky hedges.
Thanks for the good company - Kathryn

24th February 2011
What a misty and grey day for a photo-shoot - thank goodness for the superb looks and lovely temperament of Val Croft's young stallion Sandro Sun which made up for the difficult conditions.
I'm now looking forward to our next date when I'll be taking pictures of Verity Perry putting Sandro Sun through his paces.
